How to convert liters to milliliters
To change liters into milliliters, multiply by 1000.
milliliters = liters × 1000
Going the other way: liters = milliliters ÷ 1000
1 liter = 1000 milliliters. This factor is the exact definition of the unit, not a rounded estimate.

There are exactly 1000 milliliters in a liter, so this is a shift of the decimal point three places to the right: 1.5 L is 1500 mL and 0.25 L is 250 mL. The factor is exact, and nothing here is rounded.
Watch the decimal separator. Much of Europe writes one and a half liters as 1,5 L. The converter reads 1,5 as one and a half, but it reads 1,500 as fifteen hundred, the way it is written in the US and UK — so a point is the safest way to type a decimal.
"Liter" and "litre" are the same unit, in US and UK spelling. Its symbol may be written L or l; the capital is preferred because a lowercase l is easily mistaken for the number 1.
A liter is one cubic decimeter: a cube 10 cm on each side. A 1000 cm³ box, a 1-liter bottle and a 1000 mL measuring jug all hold the same amount.
