How to convert fluid ounces to cups
To change fluid ounces into cups, divide by 8.
cups = fluid ounces ÷ 8

Fluid ounces, not weight ounces
This page converts fluid ounces to cups — a measure of how much liquid fits in the cup. 8 US fluid ounces fill exactly 1 US cup, every time.
Weight ounces are different. "8 oz of flour" is a weight, and how many cups that fills depends on the ingredient, because flour, sugar and water all have different densities. There is no single fixed number for weight ounces to cups.
If your recipe measures liquid (water, milk, oil, juice), this page is the right one.
Older British recipes may use the Imperial fluid ounce, about 4 percent smaller than the US one. Measured as US ounces, a cup’s worth comes out roughly two teaspoons large — harmless in a soup, worth noticing in a cake.
