Terms of Use
Short version: the converters are free, we try hard to get the arithmetic right, and you check the answer before you rely on it for anything that matters.
Last updated: 18 September 2026.
1. Agreement
These terms are between you and Akash Yadav, who operates UnitConverter at https://unitconverterone.com ( “we”, “us”). Using the site means you accept them. If you do not accept them, stop using the site.
2. What the service is
UnitConverter publishes free unit converters and the explanations behind them. There is no account, no subscription and nothing to pay. The site runs as static pages: you type a number, your browser does the arithmetic, and no submission of yours is stored.
3. Using the site
You may use UnitConverter for personal, educational or commercial purposes. You may not:
- scrape, crawl or copy the site at a rate that degrades it for other people;
- republish substantial parts of the content as your own, or present our converters as somebody else’s work;
- attempt to break, probe or overload the site, or interfere with its security or its advertising;
- use the site in a way that breaks a law where you are, or that infringes somebody else’s rights.
Quoting a formula or a figure with a link back is welcome and needs no permission. Reproducing a whole page is not.
4. Accuracy, and what it does not cover
Every factor used here comes from the defining standard for the unit, and the methodology page sets out where each number comes from and what is rounded. Even so, the site is offered for general reference. It is not engineering, navigational, medical, pharmaceutical, financial, legal or safety advice. The disclaimer is part of these terms and explains this in full.
Found a wrong number? Tell us at [email protected]. Corrections to arithmetic are the fastest thing we ship.
5. Advertising
The site is funded by advertising, served by Google AdSense. Ads are labelled and are kept out of the way of the answer — never above it, never interrupting it. We do not choose the individual adverts you see and we do not endorse the products in them. A transaction you enter into with an advertiser is between you and that advertiser. What the ad tag collects is set out in the privacy policy and the cookie policy.
6. Intellectual property
The wording, page design, explanations and code of UnitConverter belong to Akash Yadav and are protected by copyright. Conversion factors themselves are facts and nobody owns them: the number 0.45359237 is free for anyone to use, and we would rather you used the right one. Trade marks and product names mentioned on the site belong to their respective owners, and their use here is descriptive, not an endorsement or an affiliation.
7. No warranty
The site is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components, nor that any given result is fit for your purpose.
8. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of profit, revenue, data or goodwill, arising from your use of — or inability to use — this site, including any loss caused by relying on a conversion result. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, such as liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
9. Third-party links
Pages here link to standards bodies and reference sources, and adverts link to advertisers. Those sites are not ours, we do not control them, and we are not responsible for their content or their privacy practices.
10. Changes and availability
We may change, add or remove converters, and we may change these terms. A material change moves the date at the top of this page; continuing to use the site afterwards means you accept the revised terms. We may also suspend or discontinue the site at any time — it is free, and nothing here promises it will exist forever.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of India have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them. If you use the site as a consumer elsewhere, this does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory consumer law where you live.
12. Contact
Questions about these terms: [email protected], or see the contact page.
